It may come as a surprise to the fans of "Orange is the New Black" that Dascha Polanco, who plays the character of Dayanara Diaz, was not a series regular till now despite appearing in almost every episode of the two seasons released. The good news is that Dascha has finally got the promotion.

Deadline.com reports that Dascha has been promoted to series regular for "Orange is the New Black" Season 3. She is not only one who has been promoted to series regular for the new season. Samira Wiley, who plays Poussey Washington, Adrienne C. Moore, who plays Black Cindy, and Yael Stone, who plays Lorna Morello, all have been promoted and will be seen as series regular in Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black."

Laura Prepon, who plays the popular character of Alex Vause, is also returning as a series regular for the third instalment of Netflix's original dramedy series. After appearing as a series regular in Season 1, the actress appeared in only a few episodes in Season 2 because of conflicting acting schedule due to her contract. Prepon has confirmed that she will be appearing in all the episodes of Season 3, which is already in production.

The actress confirmed that on The Today's show. Prepon said, as quoted by Mail Online: "... we've started season three and I'm in every episode. I'm so bummed that I wasn't in season two more. Sorry you guys! But season three, we're already shooting and it's going to be awesome."

The Season 2 introduced a new inmate called Vee, played by Lorraine Toussaint. The Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black" will be introducing Oscar winning actress Mary Steenburgen in an important role. The name and description of Steenburgen's character are still under-wraps.

"Orange is the New Black" Twitter page posted on June 6, the day on which Netflix released all the episodes of Season 2, "On the eve of Orange Is The New Black Season 2, the cast are hard at work back on the set of #OITNB Season 3. How freaking cool is that?"
