Orange is the New Black Season 3 Update: Netflix Squashes Casting Claim, Actor Says He is Returning
Tanisha Thomas recently took to Twitter and Instagram to claim that she has been invited to be part of "Orange is the New Black" Season 3. Netflix, however, has squashed her claim that she will appear in the new season of their hugely popular series, which has earned 12 Emmy nominations this year.
According to TMZ's report, a spokesperson from Netflix has said that Thomas has not been roped in for Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black."
As previously reported, The "Bad Girls Club" star Thomas posted on her Twitter page: "And guess who just got invited?!!! #blessed #oitnbseason3 look out for your girl." She also shared an Instagram photo of Orange cast members, and also superimposed herself on a poster of "Orange is the New Black."
Meanwhile, Matt McGorry, who plays Bennett in the show, has confirmed that he is very much part of "Orange is the New Black" Season 3. There was much speculation about his return to Netflix's original drama-comedy after he was roped-in as a series regular for Shonda Rhimes's new show on ABC, "How to Get Away with Murder."
"Generally speaking, I get to be present in both shows, which is sort of amazing," McGorry said to the press, as quoted by E! Online, "I am allowed to do both, which is incredible and I think ABC giving me permission to do that is really quite wonderful...It's too early to tell how it's going to work, but same way as Pablo Schreiber in season two, you can shoot things out of order. Thankfully, I get to do both."
Schreiber is a series regular on HBO's "The Brink." The actor, who plays Pornstache in the show, appeared only in a few scenes in Season 2. And, this is not going to change in Season 3 because of his casting in "The Brink." As previously reported, Mary Steengurgen has been roped in to play Pornstache's mother in Season 3.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 3 is currently in production.
