Orange is the New Black' is based on Piper Kerman's memoir of the same name. In the best-selling memoir, Kerman describes her experience in the prison. In the Netflix's comedy-drama series, created by Jenji Kohan, Chapman is convicted of smuggling drug money for Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), the lesbian drug smuggler and her ex-lover. She is serving her 15 months sentence in the prison. Alex is also an inmate in the same prison.
Danielle Brooks plays the role of inmate Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson who works at the prison library. The actress will be a regular in the second season of "Orange is the New Black." She told E! Online: "We're having a blast! I mean, the writing was amazing before and it has gotten even better, I don't know how they made it happen but it's really good. I think that people are going to be so excited about season two."
Recently, the media was abuzz with speculations that Laura Prepon is likely to leave "Orange is the New Black" and her character Alex will appear only in a few episodes of the second season. Netflix said that the news of her leaving the comedy-drama series is "not accurate." Laura has not released any statement denying that she is leaving "Orange is the New Black."
However, the co-actors are as clueless as the fans of the Netflix's comedy-drama series. Taylor said to E! Onlie: "Well, you know, I don't really know anything about that, I just know that she's an amazing actress and I've really had an incredible time working with her and I know that there's no end to that relationship."
