'Orange is the New Black' Update: Vee Is 'Not' Part Of Season 3
The trouble-maker of Season 2, Vee, is not returning in "Orange is the New Black" Season 3, according to Netflix's official. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Lorraine Toussaint is set to begin shooting for Season 3.
TMZ reported that Toussaint is returning to reprise her role as Vee in Season 3 of Netflix's drama-comedy. However, the report was unable to confirm whether Vee will be seen in a flashback or she will be shown alive. According to the report, the actress was expected to begin filming this week on Tuesday. In the last season's finale, Rosa runs down Vee with a van. It is being said that the character did not survive the hit.
Us Weekly is reporting that Netflix has ruled out the possibility of Toussaint reprising her role as Vee in Season 3. A Netflix's representative said to the site, "She is not going to be in season 3." Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Vee is not going to be part of "Orange is the New Black" Season 3.
Meanwhile, a video has been posted by TMZ. In the video, Toussaint is standing outside the set of "Orange is the New Black." She is seen saying to the TMZ's reporter, "... She is Vee. Is Vee dead? Can Vee really be dead? ... She is alive somewhere." She added that a Nigerian guy said to her, "I don't think she is dead. The devil don't die so fast."
Red's enemy may not return but Piper Chapman's on and off lover is set to appear in each episode of the upcoming season. In the last season, Alex Vause appeared in a few scenes only. Vause is going to be reunited with Chapman, as she is expected to return to Litchfield prison. In the last season, Vause's parole officer caught her pointing a gun at him.
Also, Lori Petty is returning to reprise her role as Lola in Season 3. Petty made a brief appearance in the premiere episode of Season 2. Inmate Lola befriended Chapman on the transport plane that was taking the prisoners to Chicago. Later at the prison yard, when the other inmates rouged up Lola, Chapman ignored her and did not come to her rescue.
The episodes of "Orange is the New Black" Season 3 are expected to release in June 2015.
