Michael Crawford, the original actor who played 'Phantom of the Oper,a' is reportedly residing in New Zealand where he lives as Mike and does fishing, gardening and all the rest of the farm stuff.

After having been discovered to have myalgic encephalomyelitis, the actor moved to New Zealand to live a much simpler life, which amazingly helped improve his health condition. According to The Daily Mail, Crawford lives in a tiny house that is located near the beach.

The 70-year-old British actor and singer said that he relocated just to 'smell the roses' and try to live in a healthier environment. It was solitude that he found and he enjoys how much a lot of people there give much respect to this need.

Crawford even shared that everyone else might find it a bit weird to know that his best friend around the place is a dairy farmer. They go sailing together and talk regularly every night for several minutes.

The actor claims that in New Zealand, he is known as Mike. This is way too informal compared to how he was called in England which is in complete Michael.

Michael Crawford also played the role of Frank Spencer in a hit 70s comedy which was pure British. He will also be remembered well during his most popular days to be the actor who plays the title role of the renowned Andrew Lloyd Webber work.

Michael is divorced and still travels regularly to Sydney to visit one of his daughters who already have her own family too.
