Spoiler Alert: This review recaps the highlights of "The Originals" Season 1 Episode 2 titled "House of the Rising Son."

Rebekah arrives in New Orleans looking for Elijah.

Rebekah Mikaelson is on her inquisitive and investigative side once again after returning to New Orleans to look for Elijah who has not been answering her calls. She is obviously worried that something bad happened to her brother, something like her other brother named Klaus.

The Klaus - Marcel history.

The "House of the Rising Son" episode shows a lot of story flashbacks and the history between Klaus and Marcel is one of them. "Klaus loved him like a son," Rebekah reveals to Sophie during their vampire-witch talk after she tracking her down to ask where to find Elijah. Rebekah believes that Sophie's plan with Klaus will not work because of the boys' history to which she describes as "bringing back together two lost souls."

Rebekah and Marcel: A love story put on hold.

Another flashback reveals the attraction between Marcel and Rebekah at the time he was under the Mikaelson's care. However, it was Klaus who put a stop to the pair's budding romance by putting a dagger in Rebekah and giving Marcel the choice to remove the dagger and live life with the woman he loves or have Klaus turn him into the thing he wants the most in exchange for his feelings with Rebekah.

Klaus reveals his plan to Rebekah.

Klaus eventually revealed to Rebekah his plan to overthrow Marcel from his reign and the first step was to gain Marcel's trust. Unfortunately, what Klaus did to earn Marcel's trust was not good news to Rebekah. "I gave Elijah to Marcel," Klaus confessed to Rebekah.

A sweet moment between Klaus and Hayley?

One of the things that fans are looking forward to in "The Originals" is Klaus showing off his softer and sweeter side to Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), the woman who bears his child. When Klaus found out that Hayley tried to poison the baby, he was obviously upset to the point of killing Hayley but Rebekah was able to stop him.

Episode 2 showed a brief, kind of sweet getting-to-know each other moment between Klaus and Hayley. Hopefully, there will be more of moments to come showing Klaus actually caring for Hayley as well and not only the child growing inside her.

Rebekah meets Marcel's secret weapon.

Marcel holds a mysterious secret weapon and her name is Davina Claire (Danielle Campbell). Rebekah met this young girl who watches over the daggered Elijah's coffin and she was stunned to find out how beyond powerful Davina is.

Rebekah tells Klaus about Marcel's secret weapon and described Davina as something that she has never seen before. Rebekah asks Klaus to help her in saving Elijah with the fear of what Davina could do their brother. It was later on revealed in the episode ending that Marcel asked Davina to figure out how to kill an Original.
