Esther uses the memory of Tatia to show Elijah the monster that he really is. Elijah sounds certain that it was his mother who killed the woman he loves but Esther explained that she is there to make her son remember Tatia as the very first butterfly he destroyed. "I need to show you the monster you really are. When you do, you will beg for salvation," Esther tells her chained up son.
At Davina's (Danielle Campbell) cabin, the young witch is still unconscious so Cami (Leah Pipes) convinces Klaus (Joseph Morgan) that they should take her to a hospital after exchanging mockery with Kaleb/Kol (Daniel Sharman). When Cami left to get the car, Klaus figures out that the person he is talking to in the teenage boy's body is none other than his paranoid brother Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic).
Then, Klaus finds out that Mikael (Sebastian Roché) has escaped with Cami as his hostage, the White Oak Stake and Papa Tunde's knife so the Original hybrid tracks down his vampire hunter father by himself because Kol refused to help. Kol receives a phone call from Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) asking about Davina's plan of unlinking her friends before killing Klaus.
Finn tells Kol that Esther wants Klaus alive and connected as well as the White Oak Stake. "So may I suggest that if you can't find that stake, you either kill the girl's spell or you kill that girl," Finn declares.
Davina wakes up to find that Mikael is missing with the White Oak Stake so she works with Kaleb/Kol on the spell that could unlink Josh (Steven Krueger) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) from Klaus before Mikael kills the Original hybrid. However, Davina finds out that Kol Mikaelson is in Kaleb's body. Kol was able to convince Davina that he has reasons of going against his family.
While tracking Mikael, Klaus ends up dealing with a group of locals that his father compelled to go against him. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who is looking for Elijah with Marcel helping, calls Klaus to tell him about the situation but the Original hybrid explains that he is also dealing with a more important issue with Cami's life in danger.
Meanwhile, Esther makes Elijah remember what he did to Tatia. Flashback scenes revealed that Elijah attacked and killed Tatia when he could not control his thirst for blood as a newbie vampire.
"You're distorting my memories," Elijah tells his mother. Esther revealed that she helped in making the memory all go away when she entered the red door with Tatia's dead body.
Esther explained that Elijah created a room in his mind for his victims where he could hide his secrets and as long as his suit and hands are clean, everything is fine and nobody will ever find out what's behind his red door.
Klaus finally finds Mikael and a wounded Cami. The Original vampire hunter decided to feed on Cami after having a discussion on why his anger with Klaus is so deep. According to Mikael, it was Klaus' fault his youngest son Henrik is dead, it was Klaus who killed his wife who was only trying to cleanse him from his beast-like nature and it was also Klaus who turned the entire Mikaelson family members against him.
Klaus and Mikael have another faceoff where the White Oak Stake on Klaus' heart. Mikael, who notices that the weapon is not working because Klaus is not burning, finds Davina and Kol working on a spell that can disable the power from the White Oak Stake even for a little bit only.
Mikael also attacks Davina and Kol to make the weapon work but Cami has already pulled out the stake on Klaus' chest. Mikael was about to attack Cami again when Marcel and Hayley showed up to help.
Klaus tells Mikael that the fight is now over because he is outnumbered. "Come find me when you don't have fools, women and children fighting your battles," Mikael declared before leaving.
After the confrontation with Mikael, Davina leaves with Kol, the White Oak Stake and her plan of getting even with Klaus while Hayley and Marcel tell Klaus that they have another problem which is none other than Elijah still missing.
The next scene shows Hayley rescuing Elijah, kissing him and then allowing him to feed on her. Then, Finn waves his hand in front of Elijah who has a blank expression on his face. "What did you do to him?" Finn asks his mother.
Esther reveals that what Elijah sees is just a dream and by the time he wakes up from it, Elijah will know that the way to find peace is her way.
"The Originals" Season 2 will return with episode 6 titled "Wheel Inside the Wheel" on Monday night, Nov. 10, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
