"The Originals" Season 2 will be airing the next episode on Monday night, Dec. 8. There is a one-week break but the CW Network released the synopsis for "The Originals" Season 2, episode 9 titled "The Map of Moments" to tease the fans what to expect in the brand new episode of the CW spinoff series.

It looks like a showdown between Esther and her children will take place in "The Originals" Season 2, episode 9. According to the episode synopsis in a Carter Matt report, it will be Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) teaming up to take down their mother, Esther (Sonja Sohn), once and for all since Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is still struggling with the effects of the Original witch's torture on him.

In episode 8 titled "The Brothers That Care Forgot," Rebekah noticed that there is something different with her brother's behavior. Because of that, Rebekah called Klaus to ask for help to keep baby Hope safe from their mother. The synopsis teased that Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will be reunited with their baby daughter.

Other details in the upcoming episode's synopsis revealed that Kol (Daniel Sharman) will open up once again to Davina (Danielle Campbell) about his resentment towards his Mikaelson siblings as well as the spell he created back in 1914, Cami (Leah Pipes) will discover that Esther's vessel plan puts her life in danger and Esther will make an unlikely alliance that could be dangerous for the Original hybrid.

As for Hayley, the newbie hybrid will be making a decision that could completely changer her relationship with Elijah. In the previous episode, Hayley is willing to have a real marriage with Jackson (Nathan Parsons) in order to make an ancient ritual work where their werewolf pack will be freed from Esther's control.

The decision sounds like it is already over for the Hayley-Elijah or "Haylijah" relationship but executive producer Julie Plec teased in a TV Line report that she is not yet going to write off the Hayley-Elijah story anytime soon. "Along with the holidays often come some joy and cheer in that area, too," Plec teased.

However, the executive producer further teased that there might be a confrontation between the two characters since Elijah has been avoiding Hayley in "The Originals" Season 2. "He genuinely believes that if he loves too deeply, he will hurt the person that he cares for," Plec explained.

Julie Plec revealed that Hayley will finally get to confront Elijah about him avoiding her in the final episode of "The Originals" Season 2 for the year 2014. "The Originals" Season 2 airs Monday nights at 8/7c on the CW Network. Episode 9 titled "The Map of Moments" is scheduled to air on Dec. 8, 2014.
