'The Originals' Season 3 spoilers: Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin talk about Klaus-Hayley relationship in new season
The main concern of Original hybrid Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley Marshall-Kenner (Phoebe Tonkin) is the safety of their daughter even though the two characters are always in conflict with each other on how to best protect their daughter Hope in “The Originals.” Cast members Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin tease in an interview the kind of relationship that Klaus and Hayley will have in “The Originals” Season 3.
Some fans of “The Originals” are hoping that the Klaus-Hayley relationship turns into a romantic one. For that to happen, Klaus and Hayley must first get along, stand each other’s company and agree on how to raise and keep their daughter safe from Klaus’ enemies in New Orleans.
“The Originals” main cast member Joseph Morgan shared in TVLine’s Ask Ausiello spoiler report that the director of the episode they are filming at the moment has described Klaus and Hayley as two people who were only in each other’s lives because of baby Hope. “It was something that happened once between them. They’ve had numerous arguments, which would have been enough to make them say goodbye, but they can’t,” Morgan added.
Morgan further explained that Klaus and Hayley are forced to make an uneasy peace with each other because of their responsibility as parents to baby Hope. “But their dynamic — like all of the dynamics on the show — is constantly in flux,” the 34-year-old English actor teased.
As for Phoebe Tonkin, the 26-year-old Aussie actress has shared in another TVLine interview that Hayley’s main concern in “The Originals” Season 3 is to protect her child and marriage with Jackson Kenner (Nathan Parsons). Tonkin hopes that the new season of CW’s supernatural drama series will have more scenes between Klaus and Hayley because there are a lot of issues that the two characters still need to deal with.
Tonkin thinks that things are not as uncomplicated as it looks on screen and Hayley should not forgive Klaus easily for all of the awful things that he did to her. “The Originals” Season 3 will return with episode 8 titled “The Other Girl in New Orleans,” which is scheduled to air on Thursday night, Dec. 3, at 9/8c on the CW Network.
