The Orlando Magic exercised the team option on the contracts of their youngsters such as forward Maurice Harkless, Andrew Nicholson, Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic, a reliable league source reported on Saturday.

The Magic made it a priority to keep the young core of the team intact for at two more season after extending their contract up to the 2014-15 season. Orlando exercised their third year option on Harkless and Nicholson and fourth year option on Harris and Vucevic.

Vucevic, who was part of the blockbuster trade that sent Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers last summer, was a revelation for the Magic last year after finishing second in rebounding, third in double-double games, 21st in field goal percentage and 33rd in block shots.

On the other hand, Harris blossomed into a solid young player as he averaged 17.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game since he was traded by the Milwaukee Bucks to Orlando.
