As previously reported, the second season will feature the season-long fight between Sarah and Rachel. In the new trailer, Rachel can be seen saying that she has only just begun. The new season will open with Sarah frantically searching for her missing daughter Kira. According to media reports, Sarah will be getting a love interest too.

Michiel Huisman has been roped-in to pay the character of Cal Morrison, a man with sixth sense about people and his surroundings. In an interview with Zap2it, Huisman revealed about a Cal-and-Sarah-dangerous-kind of love interest. In the trailer clip, Cal and Sarah can be seen kissing each other.

Huisman said to Zap2it, "... I can tell you that Cal and Sarah have a love interest that is kind of dangerous, almost." The actor, however, refused to answer whether Sarah and Cal had a past, as that would be "spoiler territory."

"So basically, my storyline involves Sarah, and we have a love going on, and it's not without danger," Huisman added.

Cal's arrival may lead to a love triangle, as Paul Dierden and Sarah's relationship was one of the highlights of Season 1. However, Huisman refused to comment on the love triangle part, saying that the audience needs to wait and see what Paul thinks about Cal and Sarah's relationship.

Talking about the upcoming season, John Fawcett, co-creator of "Orphan Black," said to Entertainment Weekly: "We want to expand the world. We want to make the show a little bigger, make the show a little badder, make the show a little more off-center. There are more rabbit holes to go into."
