BBC America has yet to make an official announcement that it is renewing its popular show, "Orphan Black," for Season 3. This has, however, not stopped Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, creators of the show, from talking about Season 3. Also, the ending of Season 2 makes it inevitable that the clones are returning next year. And, it is not just Sarah and her clones who are returning.

The Season 2 wrapped-up with an unexpected shocker. Male clones were introduced in the final moments of the season finale. It was revealed that Mark, the Prolethean, is one of the clones and part of military's Project Castor. Mark, however, is not aware that he is a clone.

In an interview with TV Line, Manson said, "We really liked the idea of a male clone opening up an entirely new facet of this conspiracy. We knew that there were two different aspects to the conspiracy. One was the Project Leda faction, and the other was the Project Castor faction."

The introduction of male clones and Project Castor open up a lot of possibilities for Season 3, according to Manson. Fawcett said that Project Castor, which created male clones, and Project Leda, which created female clones, are competing projects and both do not know much about each other.

"Paul has infiltrated Leda, so now Castor knows much more about Leda than Leda does about Castor," Fawcett said.

Talking about the Season 2 finale, Manson said that there is a lot of "elements that we needed to accomplish in this episode. It needed really to be a springboard for Season 3 and all the questions and clues that we want to follow in Season 3."

The Season 2 finale also saw the abduction of Helena by the men in uniform and she was last seen being taken away by the military men to an undisclosed location. Without revealing much about the military's agenda with Helena, Fawcett said to TV Line, that they want to worry about where "Helena's gone and know that she's in the hands of bad guys, basically. That's something that we want to deal with in the next season. That's part of the clues for next season."

Fawcett and Manson did not confirm whether Rachel is dead or survived the pencil in her eye. Manson said it provided a horrifying conclusion to Rachel and Sarah's war, which was the premise of Season 2.
