Orphan Who Dreamed of Being a Nun Now Crowned as Miss World 2011
Miss Venezuela, Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares, an orphan who had dreams of being in a nunnery is now crowned as Miss World 2011. She bested 122 other contestants for the most coveted price in the final ceremony in London.
Before Ivian Colmenares was known to be Miss Venezuela, she lost her parents at a very young age. She also had five years of her life in a nunnery studying like other normal children.
"Unfortunately I lost both my parents at a very young age, which led me to study for five years in a nunnery. I spent my five years in there and my dream was to become a nun," the beauty queen said.
She had hopes and dreams of serving as a nun but her life took a turn and she decided to study in college and took a human resources course. She then ended up working for a broadcasting company after she graduated.
"I believe that the next Miss World should be a woman of responsibility and reason. I believe the woman should be committed to the organization and help people in need. Beauty with a heart." Those were her words that won her the judges' hearts.
She looked so stunning in a pink evening gown with diamond studs accented with the massive frills from waist down. The 22-year- old beauty queen threw her hands to her face as she heard her country announced as the winner of the beauty contest.
Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills from the United States crowned Miss Venezuela as the winner of this year's glamorous pageant.
"Winning means everything to me and I hope to take advantage of being a winner in a productive manner. I'm unbelievably happy to have won and there are some incredible girls. I first and foremost want to help people in need. I would like to help people like me. I am an orphan. I would also like to help the elderly and troubled teenagers. As many people as I can," said the Miss World winner.
