'The Orville' season 2: Trailer teases new adventures and familiar enemy

A new adventure awaits the fans in “The Orville” season 2. A teaser trailer that has been released online shows the dangers the Captain and his crew will face, and also the return of a familiar villain species.

The trailer [see below] starts off with a tense moment on the bridge, with the ship on red alert. The ship is dangerously close to a sun, and they have minutes before they all burn up.

Captain Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) appears to be in repeated danger, with one scene showing him facing down someone with a gun pointed at him. While most of the scenes revolve around a sun, there will also be an episode that will focus on the Krill, the strange war loving aliens with pale skin.

A team of the Krill will take on the captain in one of the episodes. The setting appears to be in one of the dark ships of the Krill. However, Commander Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) and the other crew members will always be there to help or rescue their captain.

The other big episode on an alien planet appears to involve Moclus, the home planet of Bortus (Peter Macon). Fans should remember seeing the all male planet in the first season.

Apart from all the action heavy episodes, there are also some peaceful missions in the next season. The most significant peaceful mission appears to be a rescue operation on a planet that is on the verge of being destroyed.

This a very short teaser. In the minute-long video there is only about 25 seconds of actual footage from the next season. The second preview teaser [see below] is focussed more on the crew members.

Bortus will get a new look in the next season. The character can be seen with a thick moustache. It remains to be seen if this is for just one episode or if this is the new look for the character for the whole season.
