'The Orville' season 2: What to expect at San Diego Comic Con
A team from “The Orville” season 2 is heading to the San Diego Comic Con. There will be a panel discussion at the event, where they are expected to share details about the next season, and perhaps also release the first teaser. Filming of the TV series continues, so a full trailer may not be released.
According to a report by ComicBook.com, a sneak peek will be released during the panel discussion. The team will consist of Executive Producer and lead ast member Seth MacFarlane (Captain Ed Mercer), Adrianna Palicki (Kelly Grayson), Scott Grimes (Gordon Malloy), and Penny Johnson Jerald (Dr. Claire). The panel discussion will take place in the Indigo Ballroom on Saturday between 4 and 4:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, the filming of season 2 continues. Series Director Jon Cassar shared new behind-the-scenes pictures from the set to keep the fans updated on the production of the show. One of the pictures he shared online on Instagram is of him with fellow director Jonathan Frakes.
Some of the filming is taking place at Warner Bros. Studios, next to stages 24 and 25. Cassar said that it is “kind of cool” to be working close to the place where some of his favourite movies were filmed, he wrote on Instagram. The two films that Cassar was talking about appear to be “Blade Runner” and “Starman.”
Cassar also shared a new behind-the-scenes picture of them filming a scene for season 2 on Instagram. The director teased that they were filming “something moody.” This appears to be a night shoot for an emotional episode. The last picture that Cassar shared on Instagram is that of the curved hallway of the ship set.
“The Orville” season 2 is set to premiere on Dec. 30. There will be a total of 14 episodes on the show this year, making it the largest season for the show. Going forward, 13 episodes are expected to be the norm.
