Oscar Pistorius Back on Track After Reeva Steenkamp's Murder?
For the very first time since the February 14 murder incident, Oscar Pistorius was photographed back on the running track.
Oscar Pistorius also known as the Blade Runner was seen at the track field at the University of Pretoria. He probably is keen to training again, but with his murder trial still pending, will he be able to overcome everything?
The Olympian was pictured wearing his blades again with his hands on his hip. His track agent said that Oscar's return to training is imminent. After the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in his home on the early morning of Valentine's Day, Oscar now faces a murder trial.
Beeld newspaper printed the image of Oscar Pistorius together with Afrikaans language for their Thursday front page edition.
According to the newspaper, the photo was taken on March 24 by a student who was visiting the university where Pistorius regularly practice. It was the first time that Pistorius was seen again on the track field but his agent Peet van Zyl said that it was not a training session.
The newspaper however said that according to their source, Oscar started his training on March 21. But his agent denied rumors and added that he was only having a "jog around the track."
Peet van Zyl clearly disputed speculations and added that neither he or Oscar's coach, Ampie Louw, were present at the track when the photograph was taken. The single photo was a grainy image but clear enough to identify a man wearing a pair of blades as legs.
His official training is unclear or whether he could return back on track is still not determined, but his agent said that it could be any day.
"Based on that he told us he would like to get back in training and we can now look at formulating his training schedule," Van Zyl said. "He is finding it very difficult and he is still coming to terms with the sad loss of Reeva. That is why it will be better for him to be back at training. It will be great to get him back to the track and get some routine. That's why we are taking it day by day."
