"Outlander" stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are reportedly happy with the fans' reaction to the wedding episode from season 1 of the series. Though the show is currently on mid-season break, there is a huge amount of anticipation among the fans.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Balfe said that she was glad with the response, and the viewers could connect to it as the sex scene developed slowly and steadily. "There's been such nice stuff written about how that episode was and I think we all really worked hard to make it as real [as possible] and give it the space that these two people -- their love could really develop and that it wasn't instantaneous sex," she said. She also said that the way her character Claire Randall and Sam's character Jamie Fraser took their time to break the ice was something the audience could relate to.

Meanwhile, Heughan said that he and Balfe saw the scene together over a glass of wine. "Is it weird to say that we watched it together? ... Yeah, we were like, 'Yeah we gotta watch this,'" further reported the online publication.

Sam and Balfe have also been linked together since the show went on air. The two shared some steamy scenes in the series and it has led to rumours that the two are dating. However, Balfe has maintained on many occasions that she is single, as per Independent.

Moreover, in terms of the second part of season 1, Sam told Access Hollywood that it is going to get dark and gritty. Both Claire and Jamie have evolved over time and now things would heat up in the upcoming episodes, Balfe further suggested.

The mid-season finale left the fans at a cliffhanger when Claire was captured once again by Black Jack Randall. "Outlander" season 1's second part would go on air in April 2015. The cast of the series includes Balfe, Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Stephen Walters and more.
