'Outlander' Producers Wish 'Black Jack' Tobias Menzies On His Birthday
Tobias Menzies, the actor who plays the roles of Frank and Jack Randall in “Outlander,” celebrated his birthday over the weekend. The producers of the show have wished the actor on the occasion and the fans of the TV series also took to social media to wish him. The producers also wished all the women on the occasion of Women’s Day.
The producers of the “Outlander” TV series wished the actor on the official Twitter account of the show. The tweet was accompanied by an image of the actor as Frank Randall from the show. His fans replied to the tweet with wishes of health and long life on his birthday.
The actor spoke about his role in the TV series in an interview to TheList. Tobias Menzies gave details about the two characters he plays in the show. The first is Frank Randall from the 1940s, who is the husband of Claire, and the other is Frank’s ancestor Jack Randall, who Claire encounters when she travels back in time.
Tobias Menzies said that the chance to play these two characters in “Outlander,” is what piqued his interest. Jack Randall is also known as “Black Jack” and is the main villain of the show. The actor did not choose one character over the other as his favourite and explained that he liked “switching between these two quite different, and at times quite similar, people.”
Talking about “Outlander” Season 2, the actor revealed that the filming will begin in May. He has apparently not read the script for the upcoming season, but added that he is excited about reading it. He also praised the author of the book series, Diana Gabaldon, for creating “very strong characters” and a “really good female heroine at the heart of it.”
Claire Randall is the protagonist in the TV series. The producers of the show shared an image of the character on the official Twitter page to wish all the women in the world on the International Women’s Day.
Claire and Jack are set to face-off in the next part of the “Outlander” TV series. Episode 9 of the show is set to air on April 4, 2015. Fans of the franchise are eagerly waiting to see what happens next to their favourite characters.
