'Outlander' Season 1 and 2 hardcover book showing the making of the show to be released in October
The official guide to the making of “Outlander” Season 1 and 2 is currently available for pre-order. The hardcover book by Sony shows the making of the first two seasons of the popular TV series.
With a pre-order price of $50 (AU $70.95) for the hardcover version and $47.53 (AU $67.42) for the Kindle version, the book is available at Amazon. The online retailer is promising the lowest price for people who order now, in case the price of the book drops by the time of its release.
The TV show is about an English woman named Claire (Caitriona Balfe) who travels to Scotland with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies). One day she unwittingly travels back in time to 1740s Scotland and struggles to find a way back to 1940s, to her husband.
The first season of the show has a total of 16 episodes that focused on Claire’s journey in Scotland. The producers had to work hard for “Outlander” Season 2 as they could not use any of the set pieces from the first season. The story of Claire continues in France in the second season, where she will try to change history by stopping the Jacobite rebellion.
The costumes and the sets will be entirely different in the two seasons. While the costumes of Scotland were mostly made of dull colours in the backdrop of beautiful landscapes, the costumes in the second season will be mostly of silk and satin in an urban setting. Paris was known for its extravagance and fashion at that time and the show attempts to capture that opulence.
New set of French actors have been cast for the show for the second season. The producers recently announced the casting of Sophie Skelton in the important role of Brianna on the show.
“Outlander” Season 2 is set to premiere in April. The producers have so far not given an exact release date for the premiere episode.
