'Outlander' Season 1 Spoilers: Sam Heughan's On Screen Sister Laura Donnelly Reveals About Her Screen Time With Caitriona Balfe
"Outlander" is currently on a mid-season break. However, a slew of spoilers in regard to the upcoming episodes have come to fore. Laura Donnelly who plays Jamie Fraser's sister in th e series revealed in her latest interview that her character, Jenny Fraser, is going to have more involvement in the middle episodes of the season 1.
"Jamie comes home to Lollybroch where Jenny is running the household in his absence. While I can't say anything about Season Two, I do know that Jenny is in all of the novels," she revealed about her character in an interview to Fashion & Style.
Laura also said that she did get the advantage while playing her character as it was lucidly described in Diana Gabaldon's novel. She also suggested that a fiction literature delves deeper into the character's inner emotions and thoughts, thus can prove very useful for the actor.
"Outlander" is based on the series of novel written by Diana and it tells a story of a nurse who times travel and is stuck between two marriages. Caitriona Balfe is playing the role of the nurse Claire Randall. Her character has some steamy scenes to share with the male protagonist played by Sam Heughan. Laura also talked about her work experience with Heughan and Balfe. She revealed that she and Sam are old time friends and working with a friend is an experience in itself. She also said that the whole cast and crew of the series are lovely.
In another season 1 plot hint, Laura said that her and Balfe's character are going to have a lot of interaction when the series returns from its mid-season break. "Outlander" season 1 mid-season finale left the fans at cliffhanger when Claire was once again captured by Balck Jack Randall. The highest point of season 1 came when Claire and Sam got married and had their first wedding night.
"Outlander" season 1 is set to return in April 2015. Ronald De Moore created the series and its cast comprises of Balfe, Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Stephen Martin Walters, Lotter Verbeek, Gary Lewis, Graham McTavish and others.
