'Outlander' Season 2 episode 10 will be about Battle of Prestonpans; preview video released
The first big battle of “Outlander” Season 2 will be featured in episode 10 titled “Prestonpans.” A preview video of the next episode has been released online, and producer Matt Roberts has teased some details about what to expect in the episode.
[Spoiler alert]
The Frasers have joined up with Prince Charles’ (Andrew Gower) main army. Jamie (Sam Heughan) will make the plans for the first big battle. The preview video shows that he will personally lead the troops in the fight.
Dougal (Graham McTavish) appears to be joining Jaime in the battle. Some of the other Scottish warriors, like Angus (Stephen Walters), are eager for their first taste of battle. Angus wants to send the British army “to hell,” and he will be joined by his friend Rupert (Grant O’Rourke) in the battle.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producer Roberts teased that the first half of episode 10 in “Outlander” Season 2 will show how different people will try to get a position with the young Prince. Jamie, however, doesn’t need to do this, as he already enjoys a good rapport with the Prince.
Jamie is particularly confident about the forthcoming battle because Claire (Caitriona Balfe) has already told him about the outcome. The Scotsmen are supposed to win this battle, but even Claire is concerned that the battle may not go according to plan and history may be changed.
Roberts, however, has confirmed that the Scotsmen will win this battle. Although the title of the episode is “Prestonpans” the battle itself will not be more than 8 minutes long. The producer said that the battle will “pretty much” be shown in real time.
Roberts also teased that for the next few episodes of “Outlander” Season 2 Dougal will have to take an unfamiliar role of being subservient to Jamie. Later in the season when one of the characters “passes” Dougal will take full control of the MacKenzie clan.
