'Outlander' Season 2: Jack Randall missing in new character portraits; New French characters teased
A set of character portraits from “Outlander” Season 2 has been released online. The pictures show some of the French characters that fans will get to see in the next season, but Jack Randall is still missing in the promos.
Pictures posted on Outlander Community website show French characters Le Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber), Prince Charles Stuart (Andrew Gower), King Louis XV (Lionel Lingelser), Louise de Rohan (Claire Sermonne) and Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day).
Familiar Scottish characters Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish), Colum MacKenzie (Gary Lewis), Murtagh Fraser (Duncan Lacroix), Angus Mhor (Stephen Walters) and Rupert MacKenzie (Grant O’Rourke) are also featured in the pictures. The main characters Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) can be seen in their French costumes.
Cast member Tobias Menzies can be seen dressed as Frank Randall, but there is no picture of Black Jack. Many fans are eager to know if Jack will be coming back in the next season. Based on the promos, it appears as though the character will not be seen during at least the first half of “Outlander” Season 2 and may only appear when the main characters head back to Scotland.
Meanwhile, the TV series managed to get three nominations in the Saturn Awards. According to a report by Variety, the show got nominated in the category of Best Fantasy TV Series. The other TV series nominated in this category are “Game of Thrones,” “Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel,” “Haven,” “The Muppets,” “The Shannara Chronicles” and “The Magicians.”
Cast members Heughan and Balfe were nominated in Best TV Actor and Best TV Actress categories respectively. The award ceremony will take place in June at Burbank, where the final winners will be announced.
Fans of the franchise are eagerly waiting for “Outlander” Season 2. The show returns on April 9th. The plot of the next season is based on the book “Dragonfly in Amber,” written by Diana Gabaldon.
