'Outlander' Season 2: New official promo pictures tease French costumes and sets; Cookbook available for pre-order
New promo pictures of “Outlander” Season 2 have been released by the producers online. The pictures tease the expensive new costumes and sets that were created for the show. Meanwhile, a cover photo of a companion cookbook by Theresa Carle-Sanders has also been released.
The new pictures have been posted on the official Twitter account of the TV series. The first picture shows Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in her new French dress. “Beautiful surroundings for a beautiful lass,” the post teased. Commenting in the picture, many of the fans complimented the actress and also the costume designer.
The second picture was from a Paris set. The picture shows two extras walking around in a large garden. “Say bonjour to haute couture,” the post said; highlighting the expensive costumes that were made for even the extras on the show.
The new season will take the main characters from Scotland to France. The producers had to create a whole new set of costumes and sets for the new setting. The producers were not able to reuse many of the set pieces or costumes that were created for the previous season.
Co-executive producer Maril Davis teased a dialogue that was heard on the set while filming a scene for “Outlander” Season 2. “I need a drink and something to eat and i’m sure you do too...,” she posted on her Twitter page. The producer did not reveal the names of the characters who were involved in this scene.
Meanwhile, the cover page of a new cookbook titled “Outlander Kitchen” has been posted on Facebook. The book, written by Theresa Carle-Sanders is the official “companion cookbook” for the show and the books series. Diana Gabaldon, the author of the popular book series on which the TV show is based on, has written the foreword of the book. The book is currently available for pre-order for $32.44 (AU $44.99).
“Outlander” Season 2 is slated to air sometime in March or April 2016. The main plot of the next season revolves around Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire trying to stop the Jacobite Rebellion in France.
