'Outlander' Season 2: New picture of Jamie playing chess at the French court; Sam Heughan named Grand Marshal
A new picture of Jamie playing chess from “Outlander” Season 2 has been released online. The producers also released a GIF of Jamie and Claire meeting a few people for dinner while in France.
Jamie (Sam Heughan) will be attending the French court in the next season and will also get a chance to play chess. A new picture from the next season posted on the Twitter page of the TV series shows Jamie playing chess with someone.

“Scheming is like a game of chess, every move counts. #Outlander,” the tweet reads. The main plot of the next season revolves around Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) attempting to infiltrate the core group of the Jacobite Rebellion and trying to influence some of its key members in order to stop the uprising.
A GIF shared by the producers on the Twitter page of the TV series shows Jamie and Claire meeting a group of people for dinner. The expressions of the characters attending dinner tease the level of intrigue that the couple will face in “Outlander” Season 2.

Meanwhile, Heughan has been selected to lead the annual New York Tartan Day Parade. According to a report by Scotsman, the actor has been appointed “Grand Marshal” of the event. Graham McTavish (Dougal MacKenzie) performed the role in 2015.
Heughan said that he was deeply honoured for being asked to be the Grand Marshal this time around. “As Grand Marshal of the New York Tartan Day parade 2016, I am honoured and proud to serve the city and its ancestral ties,” the actor said.
Heughan is currently busy filming “Outlander” Season 2. In a recent tweet, the actor praised the landscape of Scotland. “Scotland today showed us it's majesty and Magic. Some seriously ancient and beautiful power at work. Stunning. Wish I could show pics!” the actor wrote.
