'Outlander' Season 2: Paris will start to 'poison' Jamie and Claire's relationship
Cast members Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe teased some details about “Outlander” Season 2 in a recent interview. Heughan said that Paris will start to “poison” the relationship between Jamie and Claire and the two will have to fight to stay together.
In an interview with TV Guide, Heughan said that the premiere episode of the next season will start from about where the Season 1 finale left off, SamCaitLife reports. Jamie and Claire will arrive in Paris and the two will have a lot of “mixed emotions,” due to the events from the last season.
The couple will not only have to fight to stay together, but also “weasel their way into the politics of the French court.” The two are in France to attempt to change history and stop the Jacobite rising.
Jamie and Claire will get a new set of cloths in France. The Scottish warrior has a rich cousin who is a wine merchant and Jamie will work for him in the first half of “Outlander” Season 2. The actor confirmed that his character will be back in Scotland in the second half of the season, where he will once again be seen wearing his kilt.
Filming of the scenes of Paris and Versailles were done in Prague and south of England. Heughan pointed out that the cities of Paris and Versailles today look nothing like what they used to in the 1700s, which made the producers to look for other locations to film the relevant scenes.
“Outlander” Season 2 is set to premiere on April 9. The pregnancy of Claire will add another dimension to her relationship with Jamie. The trailers of the show suggest that Claire will once again time travel and be reunited with her first husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies), making things more challenging for the protagonist.
