'Outlander' Season 3: Block 3 filming begins on a freezing Scottish morning; Sam Heughan takes on bullies
Filming of Block 3 of “Outlander” Season 3 began on a cold Scottish morning recently. The producers have split the production schedule into blocks of two episodes each, and the filming of the first two blocks has already been completed.
Co-Executive Producer Maril Davis revealed on social media recently that the first day of filming for Block 3 was beautiful, but freezing. However, the weather is not always the same in Scotland, and the cast and crew got to see a bright sun rise soon.
It seems the team was filming very early in the morning. Davis, however, did not reveal which scene they were filming or which episode they were working on. There are two different teams working on different scenes this time around. After filming almost all their scenes together in the past; cast member Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) are on separate teams to film their respective scenes this year. The reunion of the two characters is one of the most highly anticipated events in “Outlander” Season 3.
While the fans wait for the production team to finish their work and bring them their favourite show back to the small screen, the team is enduring the harsh weather and working hard. Davis revealed in another tweet that they now have back warmers and hand warmers to keep them warm on the set.
Davis also teased a word she heard on set. “Mac!” she wrote in a tweet and teased the book fans to figure out what it means. One of the fans speculated that it could be Roger Mac, which is short for Roger Wakefield MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) or it is most probably Mac Dubh, a nickname a popular character will get.
Despite their busy schedule of working for “Outlander” Season 3, the cast members also take out time to promote issues of importance and interact with fans on social media. Heughan recently took to twitter to demand a stop of online bullying. His fellow cast member Balfe supported him and said that it doesn’t cost a thing to be kind.
