'Outlander' Season 3: Casting begins; Lord John Grey to be the main new character
The casting for “Outlander” Season 3 has begun, Co-executive Producer Maril Davis has confirmed on Twitter. Lord John Grey is expected to be the new main character. Production of the next season is yet to begin.
Replying to an audition request by actress Ashley Didion, Davis said that the people who are interested in being cast will have to get in touch with the casting director. Didion wanted to audition for the role of Marsali Fraser, but the producer couldn’t share sensitive information like the contact details of the casting director online.
Davis hoped that the actress finds the contact details of the casting director on her own. Didion promised to put her “recon cap” on and search for the contact details.
One of the fans was interested in knowing how long it takes on an average to film one episode of the show. Davis revealed that it usually takes 12 days to complete one episode, but sometimes it takes a little longer than that.
According to a report by FXNewsCall, the role of an older John Grey is now a “priority” for “Outlander” Season 3. The character was introduced as the young William Grey (Oscar Kennedy) in the second season of the popular TV series.
The young William grey will now appear as the older Lord John Grey and will cross paths with Jamie (Sam Heughan). The character plays an important role in Diana Gabaldon’s book series. The popularity of the character led to a spin-off book series with Grey as the protagonist.
“Outlander” Season 3 is set to premiere sometime in 2017. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. With the introduction of Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin), the TV series will once again show the story unfold in different timelines.
