Just as promised, Co-executive Producer Matthew B. Roberts has shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the production set of “Outlander” Season 3. The picture is of a beautiful sunrise, which Roberts said gives hope.

Another picture Roberts shared on his Instagram page is also from Scotland. This is not from a production set of the popular Starz TV series, but something the producer took in his spare time.

‘Outlander’ Season 3: Shifting from Scotland
The cast and crew are currently filming the scenes for the third season of the show in Scotland. However, the filming may soon shift to another country when they start working on scenes involving the Caribbean.
The next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” As the name suggests, the main cast members will be going on a sea voyage and will meet with new characters, which will include pirates. While the adventure continues in the flashback, there will also be high drama in the flash forward scenes with an older Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan).
While not filming their scenes the cast members are involved in charity work. Heughan has been announced as Scotland President of blood cancer charity Bloodwise. Balfe has been involved with World Child Cancer and other initiatives.
Filming of the first four episodes of “Outlander” Season 3 has been completed. The premiere episode will focus on the actual Battle of Culloden and the aftermath.
