'Outlander' season 3: Just two more blocks of filming left; Behind the scenes pictures from Sam Heughan and more
Just two more blocks, consisting of four episodes, are left to be filmed for “Outlander” season 3. Meanwhile, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have shared some photos from the sets, to let the fans know what’s been happening in South Africa. Meanwhile, a couple of pictures have also leaked from the set.
Co-executive Producer/writer Matthew B. Roberts has confirmed that they are currently filming the penultimate block. Each block consists of two episodes, and the scenes are not filmed sequentially.
Meanwhile, Sam Heughan (Jamie) shared pictures of dolphins on the set. Two dolphins apparently kept the cast and crew members entertained while they filmed their scenes at the beach. The actor also praised the filming location.
A picture of the filming location was posted on Twitter by Outlander TV News. Another picture that has leaked online shows the costume that was reportedly worn by new cast member Lauren Lyle (Marsali), who also filmed her scenes at the beach.
Meanwhile, Caitriona Balfe (Claire) shared a picture of “war wounds” she received on the set while filming the new season. It appears as though Heughan may be responsible for this latest incident as well. Some of the fans joked that this was revenge for accidentally sewing his real skin in the first season.
Balfe got hurt while filming the turtle soup scene, she teased in her post. The scene takes place on the ship, in the book “Voyager” by Diana Gabaldon. Another picture of the ship being used for filming in Cape Town has also surfaced online.
Roberts also shared a set of pictures from the set, which includes the massive ship they are using this year. The producer also joked about seeing “exotic animals” in everyday objects in South Africa. He saw giraffe in the picture he shared online.
With the two blocks remaining to be filmed, the production is heading into the final lap, and will soon wrap filming in South Africa. All the relevant filming in Scotland has already been completed, but the cast and crew will return there for the next season as well.
After the filming is complete, the episodes will move into the post production phase, where dialogues will be added and other adjustments will be made before the final cut. The first teaser trailer of “Outlander” season 3 has already been released online, and the show will premiere in September.
