'Outlander' season 3: New pictures of Night shoots in Cape Town and Rollo dogs

New pictures of the night shoot of “Outlander” season 3 have been released online. Cesar Domboy shared a picture from the set in Cape Town, South Africa, where he has also been filming. New pictures of the dogs that will play the role of Rollo next year have also been released.

The first picture was posted online by Co-executive Producer Matthew B. Roberts. The picture is that of a machine that creates a moon light effect on the set. The producer joked that these are some of the things they have to do when there isn’t enough moon light for a particular scene.

Fans of the franchise who follow the production updates of the TV series closely will remember that author Diana Gabaldon had shared a beautiful behind the scenes picture from the set of the second season last year on a moonlit night. The TV series has now been doing some night shoots in South Africa for the past few days.

Another picture of the night shoot has been posted on Twitter by Patrick Conroy. The photograph doesn’t reveal much, but it does tease the production set of “Outlander” season 3 from far off.

Meanwhile, Domboy (Adult Fergus) also posted a picture from the production set. “La piraterie n'est jamais finie,” he wrote in the post. The actor is playing the role of an adult version of the young pickpocket the fans saw in France, which was played by Romann Berrux.

Berrux will be back to reprise his role this year. However, as the years pass and the character grows up, the young actor will no longer be a part of the show next year.

While the actors are busy with their work in South Africa, they also manage to find time to promote social causes they are interested in. Recently, Caitriona Balfe (Claire) appeared in a video to spread awareness about cancer, and is helping raise funds for victims in Ghana. Sam Heughan (Jamie) on the other hand is passionate about fitness, and is building a worldwide community, with a focus on staying healthy.

The night shoots for “Outlander” season 3 have been particularly taxing for Heughan and Balfe, and the two joked about it in a Twitter exchange recently. Gabaldon has also visited the set in South Africa, and met the cast and crew there. The author also shared some updates about her visit with the fans, who are having a difficult time in this Droughtlander. Meanwhile, Starz has released new pictures of the dogs that will play the role of Rollo.
