'Outlander' Season 3: Print Shop scene being filmed this week
In a recent interview, cast member Caitriona Balfe has confirmed that they will soon be filming the Print Shop scene for “Outlander” Season 3. They are almost half way through and once they complete this round of filming the production will shift to South Africa for the sea voyage and Jamaica scene.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly posted on Sound Cloud, Balfe (Clare) confirmed that they will be filming the highly anticipated Print Shop scene this week. The producers have been teasing behind-the-scenes preparations for this scene for some time now, and it is finally here.
At the moment the actress is filming scenes with Sophie Skelton (Brianna). These will be the flash forward scenes of the older Claire living in Boston with her daughter. The interiors shots are being filmed in studio for these scenes and for the exteriors - Glasgow has been standing in for the US city.
Balfe confirmed that they are not filming in sequence at the moment for “Outlander” Season 3. They have shot episode 8 and will soon start working on the sixth and the seventh. Co-executive Producer Maril Davis previously said that they are planning for 13 episodes for next year, so the team has nearly reached the halfway mark at the moment.
The Print Shop scene appears to be featured in episode 6 or 7, which the team will start filming this week. Balfe confirmed that she has already filmed scenes with Sam Heughan (Jamie) from the later part of the story where they are together. She also confirmed that they have already filmed episode 8, so the two main characters may be together from this episode onwards.
Claire will have three different looks in “Outlander” Season 3. Balfe confirmed that the fans will get to see her character from the 40s, 50s and the 60s. As far as the release date is concerned, she doesn’t know when the Droughtlander will actually end.
