'Outlander' season 3: Romann misses filming in South Africa with Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe
Romann Berrux is not with his fellow cast members Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan on the “Outlander” season 3 set in South Africa. In a recent post online, the young actor showed how he missed working with his friends, and betrayed a sense of jealousy while talking about the sandy beaches and the weather there.
Berrux (Young Fergus) has already finished all his obligations for the new season and is not a part of the cast that travelled to South Africa. He finished recording his dialogues in the studio over two months ago. But the actor still fondly remembers the time he spent with Balfe (Claire) and Heughan (Jamie).
Introduced in the second season in France, Fergus quickly won the hearts of the fans. The character is particularly important to Jamie, as the two have gone through similar experience at the hands of the villain Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).
Fergus will return next year as a part of the flashback scenes. However, since “Outlander” season 3 is telling a tale that spans over two decades, the young character will only be seen in the first few episodes.
Jamie will not abandon Fergus after taking him in. The latter will continue to follow the Scotsman, and will become a part of the family. However, since the character grows up in a few years, Berrux will not be able to continue to play the role.
Actor César Domboy has been cast to play the role of a grownup Fergus this year. The actor has already filmed some of his scenes and is also a part of the filming in South Africa.
Starz has not allowed a lot of information about the new characters or cast members to be revealed this early. But a picture of the actor from the set in Cape Town was posted online recently. He was accompanied by fellow cast member and newcomer to the show Lauren Lyle (Marsali).
Marsali is one of Laoghaire Mackenzie’s (Nell Hudson) daughters. This storyline will come back into focus this year.
Meanwhile, Co-executive Producer and writer Matthew B. Roberts continues to share pictures from the production set in South Africa. His latest post is that of a beautiful sunrise that also shows the ship they are using to film the scenes. For now, the sea voyage continues in Cape Town.
“Outlander” season 3 is set to premiere sometime in September this year. Starz is yet to announce an exact release date.
