'Outlander' season 3 spoilers: How Claire's personality will be different
“Outlander” season 3 will once again show the fans an older Claire. In a recent interview, Caitriona Balfe teased some details about how her character has changed over 20 years. The plot this time around will show her separate journey while Jamie deals with his own problems in the past timeline.
The following article has minor spoilers from the next season of the popular Starz TV series. Fans who do not wish to know any details about the show are advised to stop here.
In season 2, fans got a brief glimpse of an older Claire (Caitriona Balfe). Viewers will now get to see more of that version of their favourite character. The character has been living all these years thinking that Jamie (Sam Heughan) is dead. But when she found out that he may have survived the Battle of Culloden, she decided to go back in time through the magical stones of Craigh na Dun.
In an interview with Bustle, Balfe said that as an actor she wanted to explore how her character changed while living apart from Jamie. She has always been strong willed and stubborn, but Balfe said that in “Outlander” season 3 fans will find that her character has learned to smooth out the “harsher edges” of her personality.
So, Claire will not be stubborn or “quick-tempered” this time around. Balfe said that her character has learned to “control those urges a little bit.” The words of the actress suggest that the character hasn’t gone through a big transformation over the years, and there is still a little of her old personality left in her. Will meeting Jamie bring her back to what she used to be?
The next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” Fans who have read the book will know about the highly anticipated Print Shop scene, which is the reunion of the two characters. The scene has already been filmed, and Balfe teased that it is “beautiful.”
Claire and Jamie will be forced to travel to the Caribbean soon after they meet. The ship voyage and the scenes of Jamaica are currently being filmed in South Africa.
Meanwhile, the Emerald City Comiccon is happening next week. Both Heughan and Balfe will be attending the event. Clare Kramer will be moderating the discussion, and she is willing to listen to any questions the fans have for the two actors. At least some details about “Outlander” season 3 can be expected at the event.
