'Outlander' season 4 filming will begin by October; New season 3 teaser
Production of “Outlander” season 4 will begin as early as October, cast member Caitriona Balfe has confirmed. Meanwhile, Starz has teased a GIF of Jamie (Sam Heughan) fighting in the Battle of Culloden, which will be seen in the premiere episode.
Balfe had some free time on her hands, so she decided to do a quick Q&A with fans on Twitter. When a tweet enquired about the filming of season 4, the actress confirmed that she will be back on set in about two months.
It takes nearly 10 months to film each season of the Starz show. While Droughtlander this year was long and difficult to endure, it may be worth it in the long run.
The filming of next season may wrap up around June/July next year, and that means the premiere date of season 4 may also be around September. This may become the norm going forward, giving the fans a fixed schedule for their favourite show.
While Balfe may be on set in October, the initial work for the show may begin as early as September. A casting call for what appears to be for the Starz show, posted on Facebook, suggests that the extras will be there on the set by next month, and the initial production will begin.
So while the fans start enjoying the TV series when it airs in September, they will also get to see production updates and teasers about season 4. Next season will begin with the Battle of Culloden. A new GIF of the fight, showing Jamie in his kilt, has been released online (see below).
The producers continue to keep viewers engaged to help them throughout Droughtlander. Co-executive producer Matthew B. Roberts has invited fans to play a game on Twitter. He shares behind-the-scenes pictures of the show from previous seasons, and fans have to guess which episode it is from.
