‘Outlander’ season 4: Richard Rankin plays the guitar as Roger
A new behind-the-scenes video from the production set of “Outlander” season 4 has surfaced online. The video shows Richard Rankin (Roger Wakefield) Sophie Skelton (Brianna) filming scenes related to a Scottish festival in the 1970s.
The video posted on the YouTube channel of IGN shows the huge set that was built to film the Scottish festival scenes. Fans will remember the festival from the trailers of the TV series. Richard and Brianna will get to enjoy some Highlander culture in the 70s, and the former will also get to put on a kilt for the celebrations.
Roger will get to play the guitar in a band, as the people at the festival watch. In the behind-the-scenes video, Rankin showed off his skills. There are many extras who are a part of the festival scenes, and the video shows all of them having a good time on the set.
Rankin also introduced some of the crew members who were on the set. Script Supervisor Margaret Graham, Makeup trainee Tilly Scarr, Principal Costume Standby Dani M. Lambie, Guitar teacher and drummer Andy, and fiddle player Fiona are some of the crew members seen in the video. First Assitant Director Patrick Conroy can also be seen working on a scene with the cast and crew members.
There are a few, very brief scenes from the next season featured in the video. Brianna talks about how her mother always said kilts were irresistible, complimenting Roger. The other scene is Bree watching as a part of the crowd while Roger plays the guitar on stage.
Rankin teased that the Scottish festival is one of the highlights of season 4 for his character and Brianna. He joked about driving everyone mad with his guitar playing, but they all had fun.
“Outlander” season 4 is set to premiere on Nov. 4.
