'Outlander' season 4: Sam Heughan Caitriona Balfe joke about 'heard on set'
The online banter between Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie) continues. The two actors are busy filming “Outlander” season 4, but they also take the opportunity to tease and compliment each other online, much to the enjoyment of fans.
It started with Balfe posting a video of her practising for the London marathon. Heughan, who is passionate about fitness, praised his colleague for participating in the event (see below).
Heughan couldn’t let this opportunity go, so he teased Balfe a little. “May the wind lift your heels! X” the actor wrote in his reply.
Heughan is also running this year - not just in one marathon, but two. The actress called her co-actor a “show off.” Looking at Balfe’s practice video, Heughan said he feels they have traded places, adding that he is not ready to wear the corset yet. Balfe wondered if Heughan spent the whole weekend sleeping and watching “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” if they have indeed traded places.
Later, Heughan decided to take on the role of co-executive producer Maril Davis and teased a line from the set. Davis usually teases a dialogue in her famous “Heard on the set” routine.
The line Heughan teased was “…can we lubricate the blade?” Celebrity author Diana Gabaldon, whose books the show is based on, decided to weigh in on Heughan’s dialogue. “I’m sure the person who is the focus of your attention would appreciate the courtesy,” she wrote (see below). Heughan only replied with a flush-faced emoji.
Davis also joined the conversation, saying that Heughan and Balfe are doing a “pretty good job” in her absence. The producer later wrote that the two lead cast members may be missing her.
