'Outlander' season 4: Sam Heughan teases 'lot of surprises'
The plot of “Outlander” season 4 is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Drums of Autumn,” however Sam Heughan (Jamie) has teased that there will be a “lot of surprises” on the show this year. In a recent interview, Heughan and his fellow cast member Caitriona Balfe (Claire) shared some details about the filming and more.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, a video of which has been posted on Twitter, Heughan and Balfe can be seen in their costumes. The behind-the-scenes video was shot at the production sets of the TV series, so the fans get a glimpse of the fabulous interiors they have built.
Heughan said that they have a lot of old characters on the show from the previous seasons, and there are also a lot of new characters being introduced on the show as well. The actor said that he doesn’t want to give away too many spoilers, but teased that “there’s a lot of surprises this season.”
One new character that Balfe feels that everyone will be excited to meet in season 4 is Rollo. This new character is actually a dog named Dewey, who plays the role of Young Ian’s (John Bell) pet.
Heughan said that Dewey is a very well trained dog. The actor also joked that the last scene that they filmed with Dewey, the dog snored all the way through it. Balfe confirmed this to be true.
The TV series will take the viewers across the Atlantic to the New World. However, the filming itself actually took place in Scotland. A forest near Cumbernauld apparently looks very much like a forest in North Carolina.
The video also teases a few scenes from season 4. Claire and Jamie will build their home in North Carolina, and the scenes appear to tease the building process.
