Over half the filming of “Outlander” season 4 has been completed, Sam Heughan (Jamie) confirmed at an event in Los Angeles. The producers also joined the actors to tease details about what to expect to see this year.

During the show's For Your Consideration panel, Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore explained how season 3 was essentially a transition for Jamie and Claire (Caitriona Balfe), as the two characters are forced to reach the American colonies from Scotland. This time around, the plot will focus on the Frasers settling down and building a home, the producer explained.

The change for the Frasers will not just be about their home in America. The characters have aged, so the show will now focus on them starting a new family. There are also some grandchildren to look forward to. Jamie and Claire will be part of a larger settlement, Moore teased.

Co-executive Producer Maril Davis also shared a teaser in her interview (see below). There will be another “reunion” to look forward to this year. Who exactly will be involved? The producer didn’t share any details.

The show looks different each year, making it a challenging job for Production Designer Jon Gary Steele. The team has delivered stunning sets every year and will not disappoint this time, either. Steele is particularly excited about a massive plantation set they have built for the show. There is also some filming that takes place over water at this location. Steele said that the set is “amazing,” further teasing that it is more heavily detailed than previous sets.

Heughan, too, shared his thoughts at the event (see below). The actor conceded that the Droughtlander may be difficult for fans to deal with at the moment, but the actor promised that the next season is coming soon.
