'Outlander' TV series get Emmy nomination for costumes
“Outlander” TV series got just one nomination at the Emmy awards this year, but one is better than nothing. The costume department won the nomination for the episode “Freedom & Whisky” from season 3, an episode that the fans will remember well.
The official Twitter page of the TV series congratulated the costume department for the Emmy nomination [see below]. Cast members Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie) also congratulated the team [see below].
Responding to all the congratulatory messages, Costume Designer Terry Dresbach thanked everyone on behalf of the entire team. “You guys are the best!” Dresbach wrote on the Twitter page of the costume department, which was created specifically for Dresbach to answer questions related to the show and to keep her personal Twitter profile free from any official work related comments.
The episode “Freedom & Whisky” features a pivotal moment in the story. The famous Print Shop scene is featured in this episode. The plot shows the lives of characters in 1960s and 1700s. The time-travelling TV series had the format of both flash-forward and flashback scenes to show the mirror lives of two lovers Jamie and Claire.
Meanwhile, former cast member Graham McTavish (Dougal MacKenzie) made an interesting announcement on Twitter [see below]. The actor said that he has some “rather exciting bit of news” to share with the fans of “Outlander” and “Hobbit.” The actor played the role of the dwarf Dwalin in the “Hobbit” trilogy. Has he been cast in another big adventure project? Will Dougal be coming back in a flashback? The fans will have to wait and see what the actor has to say.
Filming of “Outlander” season 4 has wrapped and all the cast members are currently enjoying their well deserved break. Lauren Lyle (Marsali) is currently celebrating her birthday.
