Panda Porn: Singapore Bears Mate For 40 Minutes, Smash Record Of Chinese Pandas

Animal lovers were treated to another round of panda porn within weeks apart. Thanks to Chinese pandas in Singapore and China that had non-stop sex.

The New York Post reports that giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia delighted researchers at the River Safari zoo in Singapore with their non-stop mating session for 40 minutes. The pair broke the 18-minute record set by another pair of Chinese pandas Lu Lu and Xi Mei.

The long lovemaking session is quite surprising because pandas are not known for their attitude toward making baby pandas because the female panda’s ovulation period lasts only for two to three days a year. However, when the pandas in Singapore were placed together, it was mutual attraction.

A zoo spokesman explained, “Because of the very short time in which pandas go in to their mating it is essential to get the timing just right.” To get the right timing, the zoo keepers tried to make the mating environment of the pair as conducive as possible by controlling changes in temperature and hours of daylight to recreate the change in season from winter to spring in Sichuan where the two pandas come from.

But despite the 40-minute marathon mating session, Kai Kai did not release his semen that Jia Jia had to be inseminated artificially.

The pair were actually suitable for mating in 2014, but at that time it did not show signs of being ready to reproduce, so the zoo keepers in Singapore deferred it for one year. It is the first time that Wildlife Reserve Singapore manipulated the circumstances, although other reserves such as that in Taiwan had done it before, reports Channel News Asia.
