Paraplegic Mom in Australia Goes Surfing and Diving with Sharks [VIDEO and PHOTO]
A 50-year-old woman from Australia who has lost the ability to move her legs because of an accident 18 years ago, learns to surf with the help of her son's surfer friend, Tyrone Swan.
Pascale Honore is a mother to two sons who has found a unique way to enjoy surfing. She used duct tape to attach herself to Swan while on the surfboard. In a video posted on Vimeo, Honore said both her sons loved to surf. She was always went with them to the beach and watch the waves on the shore.
Honore said she always loved the water and wished she could go surfing one day. In one of those days she was talking about wanting to surf, her son's friend says they could use tape to go out into the water.
The paraplegic mom says she hopes her videos will inspire others to try and go beyond their limitations and pursue their dreams. Honore tells people to follow their dreams and believe in them happening somehow.
Diving with sharks
After going surfing using duct tape, the paraplegic mom continues her adventures in the water by going diving. Last Monday, Pascale and Tyrone went diving with great white sharks. Natasha Becker from Calypso Star Charters helped organise the trip last week when their documentary producer was in Port Lincoln with them.
Becker said they set a date and arranged for a cameraman to fly with Pascale and Tyron. During the dive, Pascale saw eight sharks while strapped to Tyrone's back using duct tape. The paraplegic mom thanked Calypso Star Charters for the memorable experience and support.
Pascale regularly hits the waves strapped to Tyrone's back near Adelaide, South Australia. Pascale and Tyrone are towed along on the water by a jet ski. When a good wave comes, the towline is released for Tyrone and Pascale to catch the wave on the surfboard.
