Paris Fashion Week: Rock Legends Paul McCartney and Bono Share the Front Row
It's not often the world is graced with rock legends, let alone two in the same room for a fashion show. Bono and Paul McCartney attend Stella McCartney's show at the Paris Fashion Week, nearly stealing the attention from the designer and her latest collection.
Sir Paul McCartney showed up to support his daughter's Fall 2013 Ready To Wear line, taking a seat at the front row next to U2 frontman Bono.
Paul rushed to make it to the fashion show, arriving at the set with his wife Nancy Shevell half an hour after the event was supposed to start. Being a musical legend-and father of the designer-has its perks though, because the show didn't start until the knighted Beatle was at the premises and ready to watch the show.
According to Reuters, Paul strutted down the runway to find his seat while singing "walk, walk, walk like a model", a sight that undoubtedly entertained the waiting audience.
The late start didn't dampen fellow rock royalty Bono's spirits. Although he must've been unused to waiting, the U2 singer took it good-naturedly even posing for photos with the ex-Beatle as soon as they were both seated. Onlookers witnessed the two musicians chat for a bit during the show.
Other celebrities in the audience included fashionistas Jessica Alba, Natalia Vodianova and Nicole Richie.
Later, the Beatle talked to Reuters about Stella's newest collection saying, "I thought it was beautiful. Very strong, very clean."
It seems as if Paul knew what he was talking about because fashion critics have universally praised the Stella McCartney line. Booth Moore of Los Angeles Times called it a "knockout", adding it is "sophisticated and wearable without the arty-looking shapes and sheer insets that have sent past McCartney collections veering into more quirky territory."
WWD gave a positive review of the successful line as well saying it was "new and utterly engaging."
