In a stark contrast, Paris Hilton arrived hassle-free in California, after Japan denied her entry. The hotel heiress had no trouble clearing with custom officials when she arrived via private plane today in the United States.

Hilton was denied entry to Japan where people convicted of drug-related cases are turned away under strict Japanese law. She entered into a plea bargain earlier this week, for possession of cocaine in Las Vegas. A representative for Paris Hilton said that Hilton will be postponing her commitments in Asia.

Hilton's itinerary in promoting her fashion and fragrance line included Indonesia and Malaysia which have stricter immigration laws than Japan. She is predicted to be also denied entry to these countries on similar grounds.

"Paris is very disappointed and fought hard to keep her business commitments and see her fans, but she is forced to postpone her commitments in Asia," said the representative, quoted by the TMZ.

"Paris understands and respects the rules and laws of the immigration authorities in Japan and fully wishes to cooperate with them. Paris looks forward to returning in the future to a country she loves and has been coming to for the past 10 years."

Prior to leaving Japan, Paris Hilton sent a message to fans in Asia via Twitter, saying she is sorry to disappoint them but she also promised to come back.
