Paris Hilton detained by Japan immigration over drug-related case
Japan is not a fan of hotel heiress Paris Hilton. The socialite was reportedly declined entry into Japan. After landing at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Paris Hilton was detained and questioned over her arrest for possession of cocaine.
Hilton flew to Tokyo on a private jet with her sister Nicky supposedly for the debut of the sibling's fall/winter fashion collections. After six hours of questioning, Paris Hilton was told by Japanese immigration officials that until the issue is resolved, Hilton would have to remain at an airport hotel.
It is still unknown if Paris chose to stay at an airport hotel or to fly back to the United States.
Japan has strict anti-drug laws. All people sentenced for any drug crime are in general rejected entry to the country. Whether Paris Hilton will be an exception will be known today, September 22.
Paris Hilton was arrested by a policeman for suspicion of cocaine possession in Las Vegas late last month. Hilton was with nightclub mogul Cy Waits when they were stopped in a Cadillac driven by Waits near the Wynn resort in Las Vegas.
Earlier this week, Hilton has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors. Hilton was sentenced to one year probation, 200 hours community service, $2,000 fine and ordered to complete a drug abuse program.
