She may be the daughter of a music legend, but she wanted everyone to know that she’s also a normal teenage girl. 15-year-old Paris Jackson had posted a makeup tutorial video on YouTube, days before her alleged suicide attempt.

“Hello. This is my face. It’s kind of a shocker, but yes,” the teen said in the 20-minute video shot in her bedroom.

Paris’ bubbly personality is evident in the “how-to” video while she demonstrates how she usually applies her makeup, often interrupting herself by goofing in front of the webcam, answering text messages from friends, dancing, and musing aloud.

She starts off with a bare face, showing her less-than-perfect complexion. She admits that, like many other girls, she has acne and is a little “pink in the face” without foundation.

She then shows viewers how she applies products on her face one by one, giving tips and tricks as she goes on. Since her makeup style emphasises her smoky eyes, she spends extra care in applying eye shadows, while practically just swiftly swiping blush and lipstick on her cheeks and lips.

It’s a little bit surprising but very endearing to know that Michael Jackson’s second child, an heiress to his multi-million legacy, favours using drugstore cosmetics, such as Maybelline, Revlon, and Neutrogena. Her makeup brand choices make her seem a down to earth and regular teen.

A day after the video surfaced, though, Paris said that while she didn’t mind people to see it, she denied that she’s the one who uploaded it.

“just a heads up to those who have seen the makeup video. i really don’t know how that got onto youtube haha i actually don’t have a account,” she Tweeted.

“but I mean it’s not a big deal... i hope you guys liked it tho and didn’t think i’m too crazy... i get weird when i’m not around people lol”

Paris appeared jovial and looked so natural in the video that people who have watched it wouldn’t have known that she was suffering from depression or concealing problems.

Paris was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning after she allegedly tried to kill herself. Sources told TMZ that the teen cut her right forearm with a meat cleaver and took a large number of Motrin pills. She also reportedly left a suicide note.

Her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, said that Paris is now “physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention.”
