Patrick Dempsey tweets fresh ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ scenes, told to ‘take photos down’
Warning: Season 8 Spoilers ahead
McDreamy is busy on Twitter.
Patrick Dempsey recently tweeted still photos of Mark Sloan's scenes in the premiere episode of Grey's Anatomy. ABC later asked him to remove the photos, and he tweeted about that, too.
In the still photos, Sloan (played by Eric Dane) is seen in a hospital bed, seemingly in a serious condition. In one of the photos, Callie (Sara Ramirez) is seated by his side. The photos came up days after Dane announced that he was leaving the ABC medical series some time in Season 8.
The photos are more like teasers instead of spoilers. Fans know from Season 8 finale that Sloan is in a life-threatening situation. Perhaps the biggest spoiler in the photos is that Sloan does not die in the woods the way Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) did. But will he die, eventually? Is that how he will exit the series? The photo does not say.
"I just was told to take photos down ? Abc is watching," Dempsey tweeted, seemingly amused by ABC's request.
In a follow-up tweet, Dempsey tweeted another image, but this time he captured the men at work behind the cameras on the set. He captioned the photo, "What do they see?"
Dempsey, who plays Dr Derek Shepherd aka McSteamy in the series, is in better medical condition than Sloan in the finale. But fans want to know the scale of damage in one of his hands.
For her part, "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly she is sad to see Dane go.
"I'm happy he's going to go on and do other things, but I'm really sad to not be able to work with him every day."
Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Teaser from creator Shonda Rhimes
How will the premiere episodes look like? Rhimes dishes out teasers for the fans:
"When we start the season, we are ahead enough in time where we see the outcome of lots of things. And in the second episode of the season, there's rewind - we go backwards - to where they're still in the forest... So you see what happened and in the next episode, you see how we get there. That was a really great experiment for us, and we think it turned out really, really well."
