"Twilight" couple, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had always made it to MTV Video Music Awards events over the past couple of years. Though as on cue from Pattinson's absence at last years' VMAs, it was Stewart who was absent at today's VMAs. In fact, it appeared as if the "Robsten" duo's separate appearance at different events was all planned out.

Some "Twi"- hard fans are still hoping that there would be reconciliation between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Yet, as of late, both stars haven't even met up in person. Things are allegedly going smoothly between the "Robsten" duo via text messages but other than that all things are blurry.

Pattinson might have confirmed his presence at the red carpet event for the premiere of "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" but that doesn't quite mean Kristen will be going as well. The two did confirm their presence at the VMAs but only Pattinson had pushed through. Stewart on the other hand had flown off to Toronto for the special premiere of "On the Road."

Posing with co-stars of "On the Road", Stewart stunned the crowd with her floral print dress and her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Surprisingly, Kristen had even sported wide smiles at the event. Some critics however are aiming at Kristen's appearance at the event claiming that she had obviously lost a lot of weight and appeared skinny in contrast to Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund.

As for Robert Pattinson, the 26-year old actor sported the iconic gruff look paired with a black leather jacket. Along with Taylor Lautner, Pattinson debut the special first-look at the final trailer of "Breaking Dawn Part 2."

"It's been an amazing journey, and we'd like to thank all the fans," said Robert before rolling the footage at the MTV Video Music Awards. It'll be only two months before the final film is set to hit theaters worldwide.

Judging from both the celebrities' decision to not appear on the event together, chances of them appearing together at the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" premiere are slim. Still, fans are crossing their fingers hard.
