On Saturday, Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died in a terrible car mishap in California. Walker was a passenger of Rodas in his Porsche GT Carrera. It has been reported that the two were on their way home after attending a charity event when the tragic accident happened.

According to Autoweek.com, the Porsche GT Carrera was previously owned by Graham Rahal, an American race car driver. Rahal acquired the car in Florida, but he traded the car in for a Ferrari. Then the dealer of the Ferrari sold the car to Rodas, the sixth owner of the said sports car.

Rahal was quicked to confirm that it was really not the car he previously owned. He made a statement and addressed the rumour on his official Twitter account.

"Hey everyone, just getting up this morning," Rahal wrote. "I know it is being reported by some that the car that unfortunately Paul Walker and Roger Rodas lost their lives in was my old Carrera GT," he continued. "I do not believe this to be the case, however, either way that should not be a focus or concern ever in an incident where two great guys left us far too soon," he wrote. "I did have an identical car but I do not believe it is the one," he wrote.

Rahal currently takes part in the IZOD Indy Car Series. His father is 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal. He officially became a part of the IndyCar Series in 2008. It was his first Indianapolis 500.

Rahal also expressed his sympathy over Paul Walker's early death and encourage everyone to drive carefully. "RIP Paul Walker," he wrote. "Life is too fragile, people please drive safely," he added. "Cars are nothing to mess with," Rahal concluded.
