One of the lead actors in the movie Fast and Furious, Paul Walker, was killed in a blazing car crash in California. Walker was a passenger in the Porsche GT Carrera being driven by his friend Roger Rodas, who had also succumbed to the injuries brought about by the tragic car accident.

The investigations are currently underway to find the real cause of the transportation mishap that had taken the lives of Walker and his driver, Rodas. It appears that drag racing may have played a factor in the car crash, according to an investigator working on the case.

On Sunday, investigators received a phone call and tipped that there was another car at the scene when Walker's vehicle hit a light pole before exploding into flames, Sgt. Richard Cohen of the Los Angeles County Sheriff told CNN.

"We need to find out if that is one of the issues," said Cohen.

Speed was reported to have played a huge factor too in Walker's death, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff.

Basically, there were several possibilities being investigated, even if drag racing was indeed involved. Skid marks of tires were seen at the crash site, which points out that a car, was doing circular whirls. The investigators were also looking at it. Furthermore, they are also looking at the possibility that a car may have swerved in front of the Porsche GT Carrera, causing the crash.

Walker's sudden death has put a delay on the filming of the seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise. The film producers had to cancel shooting the scenes. It is not clear how Walker's death will affect the movie altogether. Walker plays police officer Brian O'Connor in the movie. He has starred in all movies, except for one.

Walker has recently finished filming a movie titled Brick Mansions which is set to be released in 2014.
