After 5 days of speculation about Paul Walker's cause of death, CNN reports that the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has released a statement to shed light on the tragic accident. The statement says that Paul Walker passed away due to a combination of "traumatic and thermal injuries" sustained in the November 30 crash.

The 40-year-old actor was with his friend Roger Rodas of Always Evolving, and based on the same autopsy report, Rodas died from multiple injuries suffered upon impact when he was driving a red Porsche Carrera GT. The sports car veered off the road and crashed into a light pole which immediately exploded into flames in Santa Clarita, Calif.

The friends went for a quick drive after hosting a toy drive event for Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW) and promised their friends to be back in 5 minutes. But the two never came back and were found dead in a flaming car a few blocks from the event's venue.

Walker and Rodas were positively ID'd using their dental records, and sources from the coroner's office say that toxicology results for both men will be ready in 6 to 8 weeks. Based on the recent development on Walker's death, the actor did not die on the crash but was killed because of his collision injuries and the fire that ultimately took his life.

The blue-eyed actor was currently filming the seventh instalment of the "Fast and the Furious" series and was scheduled to go back to Atlanta this week. Universal Pictures temporarily shut down the filming of "Fast 7" and let its cast and crew grieve for losing a great friend and a remarkable human being.

Since his death, friends and family have banded together to celebrate his well-lived life and his impact in the lives of people that surround him. And because of this impact, the outpouring of love and generosity are very much appreciated by his family.

"Paul Walker's family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends," the Walker family said in a statement taken from Universal's tribute video on YouTube for the late actor . "They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul's charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at http://www.ROWW.org/."
